Henry Charles Mulzac III is a transformative educational leader with 15+ years of diverse experience in education management. Henry is a change agent who demands growth, increases productivity, and guides families, students, and professionals to successful careers. Henry is an innovative problem solver and enthusiastically creates diverse, collaborative, and progressive working cultures.
The most inspirational words that guided Henry through his high school, college, and professional years were those of well-known social reformer and orator Frederick Douglass, who said, “If there is no struggle, there is no progress.”
Henry had an epiphany as a college student studying abroad while traversing through countries along the Dalmatian coast. He decided to pursue his passion for becoming an educator in those World Heritage sites of the previously war-torn countries of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, and Montenegro. Henry found it imperative for society to educate every generation on how history, tolerance, and respect can help bring harmony to the planet. Educators and teachers, for Henry, stood at the forefront of making these altruistic aspirations a reality.
After college, Henry navigated a progressive 10-year tenure at the Potomac School in McLean, Virginia. Ultimately serving in the admissions office and managing roles as an 8th-grade history teacher, guidance counselor, and multi-sport coach.
In 2017, Henry founded and is now the Senior Director of Henry Charles Consulting. Henry built this educational consulting and management firm on the foundation of his keen knowledge, instincts, and expertise as an independent school selection committee member and has led numerous successful student evaluations and advisory engagements to increase admissions chances. Henry has guided families and students of all ages and backgrounds through the rigorous admissions process of Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia’s independent schools. Henry is dedicated to creating a diverse, collaborative, and progressive working culture with students and parents and has built strong ties with many of the nation’s top independent schools.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Henry collaborated with Sidwell Friends School. While at Sidwell, he supported the administration and teachers in effective in-person and remote instruction. Henry assisted students in grades 5-12 in effective learning and interaction by monitoring and coordinating with their faculty.
Henry has a master’s degree from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland. Henry also stays up to date with professional development through the Association of Independent School Admission Professionals (AISAP), The People of Color Conference (POCC), and the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). In addition to these involvements, Henry is an Independent Education Consultants Association (IECA) member.
